Is life that simple - Choices and Decisions ?

It's now 0100 hours and the funny thing is I'm still very much awake. Haiz.. I can't help to think life's that simple! Choices are all laid down in front of us. All we need to do is to decide which choice to take. Even if we don't want to make decision, we are in fact making a decision not to make any decision. Sounds funny? Sounds crazy?

Life is just between two extremes .. choices on both ends .. and we have to make a decision. How are we supposed to make that decision? No one really knows.. hardly any will even bother to know how, I think. Many of us grow up in an environment where every single thing we do has been pre-arranged for us : staying at which house, studying at which school, taking which transport to school, etc etc... Perhaps the only major decision that we will ever make is who shall be our life partner. Decisions made after marriage all will be based on who is our life partner.

Sometimes I think hard what life is all about... Sometimes I even think am I doing the right thing at the right time, going the right direction, saying the right thing and the list will just go on. No matter how tiring of making decisions, no matter how exhausting of eliminating choices one after another, the process will just recur. Just as the author of Ecclesiastes say, "Everything under the sun is meaningless." Since God has put eternity in the heart of man, our ultimate desire is just to know Him and Him only. What more can we say but to just say life's just between choices and decisions.

All the best

All the best ya bro.. will surely miss you. Time really flies and one more year has passed. I wonder how is it like to live all by yourself in a foreign land. Though one year is fast to get by, but I'm sure there will be some differences. Now, with your Masters, you can really go far.. haha.. I may be doing mine soon. Hopefully by this April I would have decided which and where. But very likely, you already know where and which ... very much the same.

Will keep you in prayer. Do remember to upload the pictures before you fly ya..

FUN and COLOURS

Am up to another piece of mind. Life has its FUN elements. Imagine where would the world be without FUN, without COLOURS, without ... oh well, that's why we would never learn how to appreciate until we lose it; never learn to treasure until we miss someone. What's FUN in life?

Funny, interesting candid moments that will bright up our days when the day seems long and nagging. Undisturbed moments where one would want to share with loved ones, that precious moments where even one day would seem to be one minute. Nostalgic moments where one would sit back and reflect upon the past glories, past glamours, past successes that one would want them to recur at no cost.

But wait! There's more COLOURS in life. Don't we miss those Crowds that we know so well and so much about each other. Open houses, heart-warming parties ... we wouldn't want to miss those 'delicacies' right? Laughter's the best medicine ... here comes the clowns to entertain us with their silly jokes. Remember Patch Adam? Next in line, we even have our very own soap Operas. We entertain ourselves to listening to gossips, especially involving the icons, idols or even our best buddies! Then there are those Up-close personal seconds .. to remind us that age is catching up! A wake up call to the singles. Normally, these gentle reminders come in red packets. Recreation is perhaps the most precious of all. Guys will be tuned to online gaming, chatting, sports (be it extreme or not) .. gals will be game for shopping (be it window shopping or not), ladies night, etc. The last element .. Surprises - times that even long lost friends will suddenly appear out of nowhere with a red envelope inviting you for a red banquet.

Now isn't that what life is meant to be?
Now shall we agree that Life's Its Fun-filled Exclamations ?!!
Carpe diem guys (and gals)

Just KISS

"Hey, how am I suppose to write this? How much details I need to put in?" That was the reaction I got when I passed down one assignment. Pausing for a moment, with a few blinks, I replied, "Well, just KISS!"

Eyes went rolling. Eeks!! Ahh!! What you mean KISS?

"Hadn't you heard of KISS? Keep It Short and Simple. Or you would rather Keep It Simple and Sweet. No one would want to read a lengthy report."

So, you know what you should say when you were given an assignment that seemingly hard to accomplish? Just KISS!!

Coming up : 3G

Did you hear 3G? Did I say 3G? Am I getting another 3G phone? Well, no! ^ ^

Of course not. As the celebration of the Golden Bull is almost done, we are ushering in the month of February; full of new challenges, new undertakings, new adventures! ^-^

This is the month we all need to Grow, Glow and Glorify. Does that ring an echo in your ear?! We all need to grow deeper in our humility, richer in our knowledge, higher in our thoughts; grow not physically, but mentally, socially and spiritually .. in one word grow HOLISTICALLY.

As we grow, we are to shine for others. We need to glow in our faith, speech, deeds and actions. Like it or not, we play a part in contributing to the society around us, to be good examples to the younger ones. In families, the elder siblings will be the good role models for the younger ones and vice versa.

As we grow to be more mature, glow to be more respectable, we should glorify God in all that we do. Now, to glorify doesn't mean only to God, but also to live in such a way our family will be proud of who we are.

So, let me sum up ... Grow holistically, Glow to be good role models of society and Glorify God. That is 3G.. or was it 4G?! ^^

New Year Celebration

New Year .. New OX-spicious year .. hmm.. what a year to start off with. Long weekends .. oh well. Can't complain too much. Been a good start; meeting old friends, recollecting the past. I do hope this year will be better despite the economy.

Career wise, I think there are more than what I could ask for already. Prospect will be there. Just that the load is getting heavier. Though I do like the ministry, I expect the load to be not so heavy. However, I'm glad they do listen to my opinion. I do have my say in the way certain things are to be done.

Ministry wise, I think there is going to be a breakthrough. The only factor that will encourage me to move on despite the loads and disappointments. Now, I can't wait to start my class soon. Soon after that, will move on to do my masters. God's willing ...

The Road

Life's at it crossroad and I read this poem again ...
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference
by Robert Frost (1874–1963)

Years back when I started teaching, as I stumbled across this poem, I couldn't help but to fall in love with the poem. It depicted so much of my then situation. Deep within I asked myself, why this section was not included during my SPM years. But as I looked back now, indeed I have learned so much through the first few years of my campus life.

To some, taking the less trodden route seems an unpleasant, unwilling decision to make. To me, I began to realize that sometimes it is only be taking the less trodden route, one would open a door of greater opportunities and greater blessings. It takes greater courage to face the uncertain route.. and for that matter, no matter how great the risk, no matter how impossible it may seem, the reward is definitely greater. Of course to say is easier than done..but this is the facet of life. One truth of the nature that has been universally accepted without doubt.

In another one month or so, I need to make that decision again as to which route to take. I have travelled on the less visible road years back ..and now I have to make that decision from the choice of two roads I have at the crossroad. What will that be? Only God knows best. Only if ...

The Ship

When I was still in my younger days, I was taught that there is only one ship that cannot be built with money or gold, that cannot be made using wood or metal, that even the hand of the nature could not destroy it. The only element in the world that could tarnish its reputation and performance is the hand of mankind. This ship is known to have many names in different language. In a child's simple language, it is FRIENDSHIP. In a couple's dating language, it is simply RELATIONSHIP. For some grown up adults, in their refined language, it is none other than FELLOWSHIP. As for me, I would choose the term FRIENDSHIP... as it is the basis in forming a relationship between a guy and a girl, in refining the fellowship among colleagues of the same faith, same congregation, common calling. In short, fellowship and relationship could only be formed if friendship is the centre of individuals involved.

Time seems to be the only witness as to how the Ship would be built upon; the materials used, the craftsmen involved, the sacrifices made and the designs on its surface. Time has witnessed how a delicate hand would form the skeleton of the Ship, how a tender mind would fashion its compartments, how a feeble foot would pave its corridors from one end to another. All these were but the fundamentals in the building, shaping and strengthening The Ship.

As the vast universe has grown into a global village, world communities seem to grow distant apart, separated by the walls of self-centredness, concrete fences of hatred and misunderstanding and coils of unresolved offenses. Alas, the Ship tries its best to land on a harbour, even the Lighthouse has paved the way for it. Inch by inch the Ship tries to anchor in. Upon the shore, some caring people have noticed its coming, thus begin to lay palm leaves to welcome it. Some indifferent ones seem not to be bothered.

The heart's core is glad there is still human touch in the global world. This is all we need to mend the broken Ship. This is all the Ship needs to anchor its mark in each heart.

Mad Cow - what is it ?

Make A Difference Change Our World .. seems to be the war cry of the current world publics. We have seen the economy forces downturn for nothing less than impacting societies to cry for that light at the end of the tunnel. Enveloped by the uncertain clouds of despair, take heed to know that we are still very much sheltered by all these "bad news".. Some even say that this is like a blessing in disguise. People started to turn to debit card more than credit or charge card. Some have resolved not to touch any credit facilities. To the writer, this is too good to be true. What is more important is to treasure family, friends more than any other things.

New Horizon

There is a saying, "Time and tides wait for no man". To some, is just a saying ..while to the rest, is a simple fact of life. Life is simple.. is just between options and decisions. Simple? Yes and no. We all have options to choose from. Once we chose one option, that is a decision. Even not choosing any options is also a decision. In all, the writer views life as DESSERTS .. not STRESSED.
